My role: Copy

KFC Germany's "Alles nur geklaut" campaign launched the Krispy Kebab under a self-aware creative concept that leaned into the fact that KFC was openly borrowing an established German street food format.

The name itself is a nod to Die Prinzen's 1993 hit "Alles nur geklaut" ("all of it just stolen"). We re-recorded a cover of the song, produced by Bass, and staged the film in everyday German locations with KFC employees rather than actors. The self-deprecating "we know we're copying, and we're not hiding it" tone carried through radio, OOH, CTV, YouTube, social, and mobile.

The joke got more literal than planned. A Bielefeld-based Döner chain, also called Krispy Kebab and trademark-holder of the name since 2017, publicly accused KFC of taking their name outright, turning the campaign's own "stolen" premise into an actual headline. Actor Kida Khodr Ramadan (known from "4 Blocks") stepped in as an unlikely, self-appointed mediator, offering on Instagram to bring both sides to a table in Berlin. The dispute was resolved amicably: KFC kept the product name, and in a widely covered goodwill gesture, KFC customers in Bielefeld now receive a voucher for a free Döner at the original Krispy Kebab with their purchase.

The campaign ran in Germany starting April 21, 2026. It is a 360° campaign spanning Radio, OOH, CTV, YouTube, Social Media, and Mobile — with a real-life trademark dispute and its on-camera resolution becoming an unplanned, widely covered chapter of the campaign itself.

We spread the word about the new Krispy Kebab with Wildplakatierungen (guerrilla wild-postings) all around the country, taking the launch straight to where kebab is usually seen. We even stole some more and produced special Krispy Kebab Krew T-shirts, inspired by the well-known design on Döner Kebab packagings.
